The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the so-called Tea Party have entered into a tiff. The stage is set for an epic war within the press. The NAACP says the Tea Party is directing racist rhetoric at the president and other government officials. The Tea Party says the NAACP is racist and covering for criminal actions of the New Black Panther Party. Pundits on both sides have begun to sound off.
What the NAACP said
The number of photos are legion of Tea Party rally attendees holding signs that could possibly be construed very easily as racist by the NAACP or any person else. The NAACP is pronouncing guilt from the association, but the hillbillies, bigots, and ignoramuses in question do not represent the Tea Party in any type of official way at all. In fact, Tea Party rally organizers are starting to ban that sort from attending.
What the Tea Party said
The Tea Party folks have fired back the NAACP is racist for covering for the New Black Panther Party committing voting crimes. A few members of the NBPP were acting suspiciously outside a voting station in Pennsylvania, during the election in November 2008, which the US Attorney’s Office caught wind of and began prosecuting for voting abuses against several individuals and also the NBPP itself. The attorneys on the case were ordered to drop the case, possibly by Obama appointed officials.
Who’s the bad guy on this one?
This controversy gives MSNBC and Fox News something to talk about so they can sell commercials for TV and talk radio shows. Pundits will get paid, but it will advance neither cause nor do anything about real racism.
